How the aggregate score, the rating histogram, and the comparison table on every Trustonion product page are computed.

Aggregate score

The headline score — 4.6 / 5 on the Nexus Market page above — is a weighted mean over the past 12 months of verified reviews. Each review carries a weight of 1.0; PGP-signed reviews carry 2.0; reviews older than 12 months are exponentially decayed with a 90-day half-life. The score is recomputed once per hour.

Rating distribution

The 5-bar histogram on each product page shows the proportion of reviews at each star level over the same 12-month rolling window. The numbers update in real time when a review clears the 48-hour cooling buffer.

Comparison table

The “vs other markets” table compares feature presence in a binary fashion. Source data is drawn from each marketplace\'s signed announcements, the public reproducibility of its escrow contracts, and direct verification by Trustonion staff using a controlled buyer account. The table is reviewed quarterly and re-published with a signed timestamp.

Listing inclusion

A marketplace is added to Trustonion when it satisfies all four of the following:

  1. At least 90 days of continuous operation, observable on Tor.
  2. A signed announcements feed under a published PGP key.
  3. At least three verified Trustonion buyer reviews from independent wallets.
  4. No active law-enforcement seizure on its primary onion address.

Markets that fall below any of these criteria are flagged on the listing with a yellow banner. Markets that exit-scam or are seized are archived but not deleted, with the closure date and circumstances logged in the listing\'s history.
