The VERIFIED BUYER badge on every review on this site means the reviewer signed a wallet challenge tied to a confirmed Nexus settlement. What that proves and what it doesn't.
What the badge proves: the reviewer holds the spend key tied to a wallet that successfully completed a multisig settlement on Nexus Market. The signature is forgery-resistant; producing a fake VERIFIED BUYER badge would require holding a real spend key on a real settlement, which is functionally indistinguishable from being a real buyer. What the badge does not prove: the reviewer is a single human (one person can hold multiple wallets), the reviewer is unbiased (a vendor with a buyer account can write reviews of competitors' shops), or the reviewer is current (the badge does not expire).
For the typical-buyer reader, the badge is sufficient signal that the review is rooted in a real platform interaction. Trustonion does not attempt to deduplicate across multi-wallet users because the value of doing so does not justify the OpSec costs of tracking such a graph.
