Vendor onboarding is slow but worth it
On the vendor side the onboarding is the slowest of any market I've been on, but it's also the only one I've been on where buyers genuinely show up and trust the bond. The probationary period filters out spam and the signed feedback means I can't lose three years of reputation to one bad day.

No exit-scam pattern, two years in
Long-time Hydra refugee. Watched four post-Hydra markets pull the rug. Nexus is the only one I've been on for more than a year that has shown zero exit-scam telegraphing — no “send to fresh address,” no withdrawal queue freeze, no admin going dark on chats. The architecture genuinely doesn't allow them to. That's the whole pitch and they delivered.

Good but the UI on mobile Tor Browser is rough
Functionally everything works, but the vendor profile pages render awkwardly on mobile Tor Browser. Tabs overlap, the dispute button gets pushed below the fold. I get that mobile Tor is a small slice of users, but a CSS pass would help.

Tertiary mirror still slow
Primary and secondary are flying. The tertiary mirror still feels rough — 250-300ms p50, occasional handshake retries. I get that it's the failover and that's on slower guards by design, but if it's the only one a user happens to hit they will think the market is broken. Knocking one star off for that. Otherwise no complaints.

Customer support actually answers
Opened a non-urgent ticket asking about XMR deposit confirms. Got a real reply (not a canned one) inside two hours. On a darknet market. In . That should not be remarkable but here we are.

Monero settlement is a non-event
I was a hold-out on BTC for years. Switched the account to XMR after the migration nudge. It is genuinely a non-event — deposits clear in 10 confirms, withdrawals are fast, and the privacy ceiling is night and day vs Bitcoin. New buyers should just start on XMR and skip the conversion entirely.

Anti-DDoS challenge confused me at first
First time I hit the “Checking your browser” page I almost backed out thinking it was a phishing trap. It's not, it's the legitimate L7 challenge. Ten seconds and you're through. The page should probably say “Nexus is checking your browser” explicitly to avoid scaring new users.

Dispute resolved in under 4 hours
Order was delayed past the buyer-protection window and the vendor went non-responsive. Opened a dispute, three-panel picked it up inside an hour, ruled in my favor by hour four with the multisig refunded automatically. No back-and-forth, no “send proof again,” just a clean ruling on the evidence I had already attached.

PGP 2FA saved my account
I had a credential leak from a totally unrelated forum. Someone tried to log into my Nexus account with the same password the next day. PGP 2FA blocked it. Without that step they would have walked right in. Don't skip the 2FA setup, it takes 90 seconds and pays for itself the first time.

Multisig actually works the way they say it does
Bought from a vendor with a clean rep, escrow released cleanly, support thread answered in under 30 minutes when I had a question about the ship date. The 2-of-3 multisig is the real deal — you can pull the contract address and watch the on-chain state in real time. No exit-scam patterns, no “please send to a fresh address” nonsense.

Mirror rotation is the right call
I see complaints about “why does the URL keep changing.” Because if it didn't, every flood and every phishing operator would have an easier time. The 24h rotation with the same PGP key is the correct trade-off. Bookmark a gateway, not the onion, and you never have to chase.

Login speed jumped after the May rotation
I had been using the legacy primary for months and it had grown sluggish — full-page loads stalling 8 to 10 seconds during peak. After the May rotation the new primary clears p50 well under 200ms from EU exit. Whatever they did with the new guard pool, it works. Multisig confirmation also feels snappier.
